The prayer, worship and sacrifices of the mortals of their realm. So when that belief began to falter, so did the Gods and Goddesses of Mount Olympus. The citizens of Greece, either by their own free will or by force, began to believe in another God. A God who was spreading out of his realm and into the realms of others, he, his son and his army of angels over powering all. Fearful of death, a death they thought they would never have to face, the Olympians pooled their power, using their last remaining strength to ensure that although they would die, they would one day be reincarnated. The big flaw in this plan being that they could not control when and where they were born, or to whom. So, when they were finally reincarnated, they had no idea where each other were... The last great war was twenty years ago, and casualties were great on all sides. The Emperor Taron, ruler of the Imperials, grew up with ideas of peace and when he became Emperor he sought contact with the other races of Azzaria. It was a long and complex procedure, filled with frustration and after many years peaceful negotiations began. The result of those negotiations was an alliance between the races, starting with a marriage and trade deals. Emperor Taron's son has been betrothed to the daughter of the King and Queen of the Celts. The Emperor is also in talks with the Elves to discuss a possible marriage between his niece, and one of the Elven princes. Both marriages have been met with a mixture of distrust, happiness, relief and suspicion on all sides. There are those who remember the last war, and some look forward to peace, while others hold onto old grudges and past sins. Azzaria is in a time of great change. Spellbound Cafe, as it is called, is a three story tall building constructed of the strongest magical gingerbread available. It is the home of the best pastries, cakes, coffee and teas in the entire world of magic. Why is it infamous then? Every once in a while when the main baker of the cafe disappears for a well deserved vacation, his replacement would take charge and produce defective cakes that spit rainbows and sneeze rabbits. On several occasions, the cakes have changed the gender of lucky patrons and even the colour of their skin. Of course, the effects are always temporary and only lasts about a day or so, thus no one has ever questioned why the replacement have not been fired yet. But still, it has made the patrons of Spellbound Cafe rather wary of the cakes as they never know when the baker waddles off for his vacation. And you, who had been whisked away to the world of magic once your Spark was discovered, end up in the city of Melanore one day, hearing the latest mishaps from this peculiar cafe. The planet was discovered some centuries ago by space explorers who apparently had a sense of humour. Circling a distant sun in an unstable orbit, it is alternately scorched and frozen, a hell by anyone's standards. Perhaps that's why someone got the bright idea to build a prison there. The doors to the cells lock, but there isn't anyone here to lock them. No staff are needed on this planet prison, though there are rumours that there is a Warden, whose name is whispered with fear. A strange mineral that runs through the planet's crust not only shields the network of caves below from the punishing heat and cold of the surface, but it also somehow cancels out any magical effects that might allow the prisoners to escape. It somehow does this without robbing them of the rest of their powers. Powers, you say? Yes, this is no ordinary prison filled with thugs and common criminals. The prisoners here are villains from a myriad of universes, some of them ordinary, some of them possessing strange and corrupt powers from their own universes. All of them are considered dangerous enough that they have been transported here to face a lifetime of imprisonment in the most inescapable prison anyone has ever conceived of. But the fight continued, because the legends had got one thing right - angels and demons were on opposite sides. Not because of some heavenly war, but because of a natural, inbuilt animosity. The doors of Vista Academy opened in the 1940's in a time of innocence, a time when private and boarding schools were part of the norm. Still popular these days but mostly those institutions are more for people with money. Through the ups and downs of the world one thing has always stayed the same, Vista Academy is one of the best boarding schools in the United States. It stands by a challenging academic load, but also feels students should take their free time and electives to find what drives them, a passion that might help them later in life. Vista Academy welcomes all students from the artistic to the highly intelligent only worried about getting straight A’s. No one is discriminated against. A home away from home Vista Academy prides itself in taking suggestions from its students on how to improve things around campus to truly make it feel like home. Students are allowed to have their own TVs, stereos and game systems in their rooms. Though these are privileges that can be suspended if grades begin to slip, so keep those grades up. All rooms are doubles, two beds, two dressers, two desks and a bathroom. There are no singles at this time. Also with the College there are two people to all dorms, same as for the High Schoolers. King Paegon the Just has ruled the Seven Kingdoms for twenty peaceful years. His reign brought peace to the fractious fighting between the Houses Martell and Tyrell in the South, saw the end of the Mountain Clans that had troubled House Arryn since before the return of Queen Daenerys. Under his policies, trade with the Free Cities has flourished, and piracy has become a rare event. He marched with House Stark to subdue the latest Greyjoy rebellion while still a prince, and spent the early years of his reign encouraging the development of the iron mines in the Iron Islands. King Paegon is dead. An assassin's arrow slew the great king and threw the kingdom into the darkness of uncertainty. Paegon died in his brother's arms, in front of the crowd gathered for what would have been the greatest tournament of its age. The dragons of House Targaryen could not shield their masters the coming chaos. The panicked crowds stained the tourney grounds with their blood as they trampled one another in the furor. Nobles and commoner alike perished in the riot as rumors spread like wildfire and swords were drawn to quell the threat seeming to lurk in every shadow. rpg_ads [ gyreandgimbl ]	11:47p	Gossip Girl PSLs With the horrendously long hiatus coming up, I thought I'd post here and try to snag an interested person or two. I've been playing off and on again with 2 other players in a GG psl group for several months. We've lost our Chuck/Georginia/Vanessa player, but the other player and I are still really interested in keeping this thing going. We're both happy to take on pretty much anyone that's wanted, I would prefer playing Dan or Nate. She's been playing Blair, but also loves to take up the more minor characters, especially Eric and the parent characters (even Rufus!). Some ideas for the "main" plot could be... 1) Start off post 1x18 and redo Season 2. (Bart lives! Possible Serena/Dan or Serena/Nate! Jenny as Eleanor's fashion slave! Chuck's summer of debauchery or regret! And more!) 2) Start after 2x13 with Blair (accompanied by Nate/Serena/Eric or someone else) tracking down Chuck for themselves in Asia. 3) Thoroughly AU.... "what ifs" can be entertaining. 4) Start after the most recent episode and make up our own Season 3. We'd also be fine just keeping it casual, with whatever threads spark our interest and not trying to do a major plot line. We've had fun in the back with flashbacks and slightly AU threads. We just love Gossip Girl and would like to keep the obsession burning for the next weeks as we're faced with the reality of no new episodes! We've been playing on InsaneJournal but could definitely switch over to LJ if that's easier. I'll be copying RPing samples into a journal over on IJ (check out "and_curiouser"). The Warden hopes you enjoy your stay and you'll find staff devoted to helping you overcome your criminal tendencies and becoming productive members of society. Of course you won't ever see the Prison Warden or Psychologist, at least not physically. Abducted from your home and transported to Glaxcin Prison without warning or any kind of trial, the entire structure is fully automated--meals are prepared, cells are cleaned, sheets are changed--every function operated by an invisible source or force from outside the prison complex. This, of course, is for yours and the Warden's own protection. We wouldn't want to see anyone getting hurt now would we...? Of course the Warden will hear your requests for personal items such as clothing or jewelry, but any requests for contraband will be strictly denied. These three cities represent the three main aspects of the game for which the thrust of East Empire's larger story will depend: capitalism, crime, and government. These three separate, but not always independent, regimes of American power are far-reaching, and spread as widely as the corners of the continent, sometimes even curling around the necks of countries most and least expected. Such powers of domination are encompassed in the game by the seedy underbelly of the mafia in Jersey to the floor of Congress in Washington as well as the sky-scraping towers of high finance in New York. Yet it is not only the Americans who hold American power. Russian spies, for instance, the KGB, as well as the Italian and Russian mafia all have their bases somewhere along the east coast. The game is an interplay of many powerful existences, functioning as one of these three classes of empires. We welcome characters of all types from any fandom (game, movie, tv show, etc) and would love to see a variety of PBs. This game caters to all of the roleplayers out there who are curious about representing known characters and interacting them with others in a dramatic real-world-like setting. You can escape Zero Hour - and being a spirit forever - if you pay a small price. By giving up something important, you can gain a body ... and access to the mystical world of Adaugeo, a world connected to the one you are so familiar with. Within Adaugeo, there are four separate sections, one representing each season. Within these segments, people carry out what most normal humans would consider a normal life - eating, working, playing ... and occasionally fighting. Unless you have deemed it otherwise, you still have the powers you once had in your home world ... and so does everybody else living around you. Once you have gained a body and been assigned to a segment of this foreign place, you will also be sent to a place to live, receive a communication device, and a small bracelet with a tag that reads Collect all four charms, and you may make a wish. This is followed by four small pictures - a snowflake, a flower, a sun, and a leaf. The guardian spirit of your new home has graced you with this, as well as the opportunity to go on quests and participate in tournaments should you enjoy a good fight. There's just one rule - you may not wish to go home. Because no matter how hard you try, it won't work. Anyways, you'd better get comfortable here. After all, you're going to be here for a very, very long time. The Summary Adaugeo is a multi-fandom canon RP. Your characters can be pulled from pretty much anything, as long as they're not your own OCs. Basically, your character is stripped of their body and sent to a different world called Adaugeo. In order to get their body back, they have to give up something important, like memories or items or ... whatever you want, really, as long as it's important. They'll then be sent to a 'segment' of Adaugeo to work, play, fight, and essentially, live in like modern society would.
